Our mission is to make roasting outstanding and exclusive coffee easyaccessible and affordable for every Melbourne cafe.


We provide the training, support, and access to equipment that empowers Melbourne’s cafes to take control of roasting their own coffee. 

By taking care of all day-to-day operations at the roastery, we allow our members to focus on what matters most — producing unparalleled coffee for their customers.

Tim Varney is a well-known figure in the specialty coffee industry, with a reputation built on excellence in roasting, quality control and coffee bar management. Tim worked with Small Batch Roasting Co. (Melbourne) as green coffee buyer and head of quality, prior to which he spent six years as roaster and manager at Tim Wendelboe (Oslo), and three years at The Tate Modern (London). Tim has consulted for specialty roasters in the USA, Europe and Australia.

Tim Williams has developed and lead renowned specialty coffee brands across three continents, with a focus on establishing efficient and quality-driven sourcing, roasting and retailing operations. Tim has held senior roles with Workshop Coffee and Square Mile Coffee Roasters (London), as well as Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea (Los Angeles). He served as operating consultant on Maison Kitsuné's 'Cafe Kitsuné' coffee bar (Paris) but most recently has focused on business development and green coffee sourcing.
